So, people have so many various preconceptions of my religious tradition that are about as different as chocolate and vanilla. Daniel thinks that I'm Lutheran; Reid thinks that I'm Methodist, and Alyson thinks that I'm Catholic. Well, it's now official: I'm Presbyterian, so I hope that this clears up the confusion.

Well, New Orleans isn't nearly as bad as it was the last time that I came here. Indeed, I will say that the city is way more together than it was six months after Katrina. The roads don't have scrap cars lined up underneath them. The French Quarter is much more lively. There was actually a line at Café du Monde. There were actually jazz musicians on Bourbon Street. Now, they were dixieland jazz musicians and dixieland isn't as fantastic as garden-variety jazz, but it's far better than the country and bluegrass that I found the last time on the strip.
It's just not as much fun as it was last time. Last time, we were tearing down. This time, we're building up. I'm sure that building is more important than tearing down, but it's not as fun or as easy. Fortunately, I've learned a thing or two about construction from my father. Today, I was actually teaching a few people how to lay tile. The tiles look crooked and awful, but we all got the idea.

What's worse: getting a job rejection letter in the mail or the fact that your name is wrong on the letter?
