I often hear people's observations about something. What's interesting is that I see these observations peppered with bias. In the end, I end up learning more about the observer than the observed.

I should feel disappointed in someone. Truthfully, I don't give a crap at this point. I used to think that I had a lot of patience. Quite frankly, I'm impressed that she has exhausted that patience.
I want to just not care anymore. I do believe in second chances. Should I invest in a third?1

Years ago, I set up the VCR to record Star Trek every night. One evening, my sister's wedding cassette was left in the VCR, and the write-protection tab was not removed.

Friday, 2009 August 7 8:29 PM CDT — Grand Forks, North Dakota UNITED STATES
So, this is my last night here in North Dakota. I board a plane for Denver in about twelve hours. We (or whoever's still here) are going to the Moose one last time in a couple of hours. I'm really going to miss all the great friends that I made here. For some people, they keep coming back here not for the academics but for the close-knit community that exists at SIL. I can't really blame them. These are some of the most wonderful people that I know. Despite that, I am really eager to move back to Colorado and escape the academic pressure that we've all been under the past nine weeks.
I'm always going to cherish the memories that I made here just like I still do from two years ago. There were more people then and more regular trips to the Moose, but this year has had its wonderful moments too. Some of these people have already left or will be leaving soon, and I will never see them again. Others will be here next year, and, Lord willing, so will I. Despite the hardships of this year1 I'm already looking forward to next year.

I feel like I'm regretting a dream. At least, it feels like a dream at this point. The fact is that it wasn't a dream, so I should regret it. Still, if it didn't happen, I would regret not doing it, so I should stop losing sleep.
…but I don't regret it.

I am twenty-four years old. Anything that I write here will be predictably clichéd. Instead, I'll just mutter something that sounds profound but keep it to myself.
Heh, the irony.
