Once, when I worked for a computer company that had an equestrian-vacation company as a client, I entered my mother's address onto their mailing list to test the system. Five years later, she still gets horse and equestrian catalogues in the mail occasionally. I snicker when I see them.

There was a time in the history of the church where, if an armed gunman came into the building with guns blazing, instead of having undercover security guards and various furnished parishioners pull out their firearms and waste the bastard, they would drop to their knees and pray for his soul.

It's a shame to me how people count wealth as one of their blessings. I don't believe that it's a curse, but, when you look at all the ways that you have been blessed by God and fortune, do you really think that wealth deserves to be on that list in place of true blessings?
