Doubt and Hate

Wednesday, 2010 December 15 10:27 PM MST — Arvada, Colorado UNITED STATES

I want to talk more about Christmas because… it is Christmas.

Anyway, I wrote a while back about how this seems to be the season where everyone decides to act like a jerk. I could give bad news to anyone any other time of the year, and I can get them to accept that bad news calmly. They might even thank me. This month, I get verbal profanity… and this is the month that is supposed to be reserved for good tidings and good cheer.

Maybe that's the problem. We all have times where we just don't feel like being happy. Around Christmas, there is the expectation that we have to have good humour. However, it's human nature to not be happy twenty-four/seven. It just seems to me that we have unreasonable expectations on people. Is it okay to be sad on Christmas?

Breathtaking

There really aren't words to describe a certain feeling. Imagine thinking that you got along with someone, but finding out years later that they despised you. Then, in hindsight, their actions begin to make sense.

Do I chalk that up to a schmuck move on their part or obliviousness on mine?

“…et super terram pax in hominibus bonae voluntatis.”

This is the Christmas season. It's the season that we celebrate the birth of the Man who taught us all to love one another. So, what do we do when people say “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas”? We choose to be complete dicks, of course… in the name of that Guy who taught us to love one another.
