Okay, today's post might be a little long, so I'll summarise it here for you really quickly:
Okay, here goes: I notice in conservative-Christian circles that there exists a sense of patriotism that is almost as unquestionable as the faith that is practised. I don't know what to peg it on. I don't know the cause, but I would assume that there are several different reasons rather than a simple one. Of course, I have mentioned on here before my views that the American Revolution is the complete opposite application of biblical principles. I have several arguments about it with several different people, and, I'll admit, I never get tired of arguing (unless someone comes to the podium with a closed mind). So, really, I'm not adding to the conversation anything new. I'm just making my traditional why-do-we-celebrate-this statement. It just doesn't work out well for me since I live in a conservative-Christian circle, but I lack any patriotism for America whatsoever.
Hmmm, I thought that I was going to have a lot more to say, but the things that I have to say just don't seem to follow nicely. O well. That's just something to get the ball rolling.
Thoughts?
