A Real Life Lesson

Thursday, 2006 July 6 3:36 PM MDT — Arvada, Colorado UNITED STATES

Apparently, some people are upset that immigrants to the United States are taking jobs and leaving none for American teenagers. Therefore, immigration should be reduced because of that.

Look at it this way: if the reverse were true, immigrants couldn't find jobs because the American teenagers are taking them. Who is to say whether a teenager or an immigrant is more entitled to a job over the other? I say it should go to the one who will work the best.

For those upset that teenagers can't find jobs, big deal; they'll live. Where an immigrant would need a job to feed his family, a teenager would need a job to pay for her mobile-phone bill so that she can talk incessantly with her girlfriends 24/7.
