“Why are we laughing at this!”

Okay, over winter break, it would seem that I would just have a bunch of time to do nothing. Well, it's true. Despite that, I just can't bring myself to actually sit down and write something here that I've really been wanting to write about. So, this post won't be as elegant as others.

I hate when people complain with feelings that Christians in this country are persecuted all because they don't get special privileges. It's this whole “War on Christmas” junk that has me rolling my eyes. Some Christians seem to believe that Christianity has rights in this country that no other religion has. This country was not founded on Christian principles. The “founding fathers” did not intend for it to be with one of them, John Adams, writing an official government document proclaiming such. If you want to say that Christians make up the majority of the population in this country, that's fine because it's true, but to say that Christianity and Americanage are one in the same is pure ridiculousness. Personally, I hope to be a good Christian and a horrible American.

Happy Holidays!

Quote to ponder: “In the old days, it was not called the holiday season; the Christians called it Christmas and went to church; the Jews called it Hanukkah and went to synagogue; the atheists went to parties and drank. People passing each other on the street would say ‘Merry Christmas!’ or ‘Happy Hanukkah!’ or (to the atheists) ‘Look out for the wall!’ ” — Dave Barry
